May 8, 2010 - Ekin Plans to have a Concert at the Coliseum Next Year
Ekin's record company Sony BMG and TVB still have not resolved their dispute over royalties. Yesterday Ekin was at radio 881 to publicize his up coming concert. Sony personnel were present at the scene, immediately TVB Entertainment news channel was told that Ekin was giving publicity for his concert, sol their interview could not happen. The situation was most awkward. Finally both sides asked for instructions and finally Ekin was able to accept the interview in Cantonese. After the event Ekin acknowledged that his status was awkward, since he was a TVB actor first and he should fulfill his obligations in the spirit of the contract. However as a singer he wants to give publicity to his concert, for this Sony BMG give their assistance. He is then unclear. He also divulged that he wanted to return to the Coliseum this December, however the schedule is not available, so he is considering to do it next year. It will be a completely new concert. Currently he is busy practicing his Mandarin in order to release another album.
In Macao Jordan and Shu Qi are unable to be his special guests for the concert because of their other commitments. He was asked whether he would arrange for his girlfriend Yoyo to be one of the guests as this would save him money. Ekin pointed out that special guests usually didn't receive a monetary reward anyway, only give a gift, as this is to do with relationships rather than work. He pointed out that his girlfriend didn't sing, he also said that even if the reward was high he wouldn't work with his girlfriend. He also said that he didn't like the smell of money saying that although he wasn't rich he was satisfied with his current situation. he was asked if he would work with former girlfriends. Angrily Ekin said " Cannot...will not"
