June 5,2010 - Friends For Life Concert - Macao Venetian
This evening Ekin performed his《郑伊健友情岁演唱会》 Friends for Ever Concert at the Venetian, Macao. Though he is persistently low key it was hard to avoid media interest. Ekin's girlfriend Yoyo was discovered sitting with Ekin's parents and their good friend Chris Lai. Obviously Ekin's relationship with Yoyo is very close so perhaps it won't be long before she is a daughter in law.
On stage Ekin wore many of the same costumes he used in December. However because Jordan and Shu Qi could not attend as his special guests due to other commitments Ekin invited his good friends Jerry Lam and Chin Ka Lok to sing the Young and Dangerous songs with him. In place of Shu Qi he invited model Mandy Lieu to be his dance partner. She wore a sexy costume very similar to the one Shu Qi wore in December. Ekin's intimacy with her, however, was limited to nose to nose. The venue is not the same as the Coliseum and the audience could only sit on three sides of the stage. Thus the props he used had to be altered. When Ekin was singing 《感激我遇見》 an audience member suddenly handed fresh flowers to his girlfriend and asked her to marry him. Ekin stopped the song and became their matchmaker, and when he had confirmed that she had agreed, he handed over the microphone so that the boy could publicly ask her to marry him, " I hope you will marry me". His girlfriend indicated that she was willing. Everyone immediately shrieked. Ekin couldn't help but publicly congratulate them, before continuing the song.
As before fans converged on Macao from Hong Kong, Beijing, Japan and Guangzhou. Ekin thanked them for coming saying " You always support me every time in every location", he also publicly expressed gratitude to his parents for coming to support him, but he didn't mention Yoyo. In the same way as last time she secretly entered the venue to support him.
After the concert Ekin hosted a celebration dinner, he was asked about the fan who proposed marriage during the concert. He said, " I was rather startled, but I was happy to witness it.." When he was asked if he was still thinking of proposing, he laughed that's a bit close, others have done it before, we haven't done it. Now is not the right time.When the moment comes certainly will use the flower idea. Ekin said he is planning to hold concerts in different regions. Next year he will return to the Hong Kong Coliseum for a Part 2 concert.
